Our relationship with Carlos and his family began in 2016 during a trip to Tarrazu. The following year we had the privilege to repay that hospitality, when Carlos and his daughter Marianela visited Gothenburg and stayed with us. We’ve travelled to Carlos and his farm La Pastora several more times and over the years our working relationship has grown into a friendship. During one of these trips, Carlos took us to the very top of his farm. At a stunning 2000 m.a.s.l. he had planted some Geisha tree’s. They were still too young to yield any significant volume, but the first cherries on those trees were hands down some of the best we’ve tasted. Super sweet and juicy, packed full of tropical fruit, candy and floral notes. We asked him then and there to give us a call as soon as the trees were ready for their first harvest. In March 2019 we got the call and we’ve been buying the Montero’s Geisha lots ever since. This is an extremely rare and limited lot and we couldn’t be more proud to share it with you.
